W)Taps (1999)
In 1999, Supreme partnered up with Japanese streetwear label W)Taps to create what is widely believed to have been a solitary test run of thirty collaboration Box Logo t-shirts. This is without question one of the most obscure Box Logo releases, for a number of reasons. Firstly, some of the t-shirts have two neck labels, one of which is Supreme, whilst the other is the W)Taps affiliated brand, Neighborhood. Tetsu Nishiyama founded W)Taps in 1997, following the same pathway as his longtime friend, Shinsuke Takizawa, who started his own Neighborhood brand in 1994. Ever since then, the two brands have worked alongside each other whilst maintaining their individual styles. The W)Taps Box Logo design follows the mysterious, covert vibes of the Japanese brand, with a nod to its military aesthetics in the form of a desert camouflage application.
